Description: Our root Chakra is responsible for our energies managing our primal body. The Root Chakra is the home of the primal ego, and no, this is not a bad thing so long as the root chakra remains harmonized and balanced. When our root chakra is functioning at a balanced center the person will feel calm, safe, secure, grounded, and at present. When we are grounded and secure within ourselves, we do not allow fear to sway us or our decisions, we build strong and healthy connections with our friends, family and community, and we are at peace. The root chakra energies are of the Earth Element meaning this chakra works to protect, aid in survival, and is first and foremost powering our vehicle in our spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings having a human awakening experience. When we are strong and confident within ourselves, we are able to tackle obstacles, overcome challenges, and continuing growing in any manner we desire. When we accomplish our goals, it can bring about a wonderful feeling or even an “ego boost”. We then desire to keep achieving as we have proven to our self that we can accomplish what we set out to do and the cycle begins again.
The Root Chakra also connects us to our family and ancestral energies, as it is the Root of who we are. Ancestral karma and past energies will meet with us here. It is important to help aid and heal the fears of the ones that have come before us else we will only continue to pass them down generation after generations. This is how prejudice, judgements, and unbalanced ego grows. It can be seen all over the world. Unchecked ego and fear cause war, violence, divineness, and destruction of all kinds. Greed forms out of fear of lack and soon people are hoarding resources and money and spreading the fear amongst others. Due to the Root Chakra being the first chakra and the one relating us to the human experience, it is one of the easiest ones to knock from balance. Even small day to day tasks can pull us down if we allow resulting in anxiety, depression, hoarding, controlling, and manipulating. This is the reason it is stressed that one should not make decisions out of fear.
